Published 2026 cost guides put motorized louvered pergolas at roughly $55 to $180 per square foot installed. A basic fixed-louver system sits at the low end; a fully automated roof with sensors, lighting and screens sits at the top. At $80 to $130 per square foot, a 12 by 14 foot motorized system works out to roughly $13,000 to $22,000 before add-ons.

The fastest way to see a realistic number is to design it. The Pergola Studio on our home page lets you set the size, style and add-ons and shows a planning range in about a minute. We confirm the final quote after a site visit.

Motorized louvered pergolas generally cost $55 to $180 per square foot installed, depending on size, features and site work. Here's what drives the price in Tulsa.

A fixed pergola has louvers set at one angle. TEMO's fixed pergolas provide about 60% shade and are rated for winds up to 220 miles per hour. An operable pergola has motorized louvers you can open fully, angle, or close into a solid roof.

Operable louvers close for rain and open for sun; fixed louvers give steady partial shade. Here's how they compare for Oklahoma's heat, storms and wind.

In most Tulsa-area cities, a structure attached to the house, like a patio cover or sunroom, needs a building permit. Freestanding pergolas may or may not, depending on size and your city's rules. HOAs often require their own approval on top of the city permit.

Rules change, so we check the current requirements for your exact address during design and provide drawings for permit and HOA submissions.

Attached patio covers and enclosures usually need a permit in Tulsa-area cities. Here's what typically applies and how we handle it.

An insulated patio cover has a solid roof that blocks sun and rain and keeps the area under it noticeably cooler and quieter in the rain. It is the better choice when you want a true outdoor living room with fans and lights.

A pergola filters sunlight and keeps an open, airy feel. An operable pergola sits between the two, because you can close its louvers into a roof when you need to.

An insulated patio cover blocks sun and rain completely and keeps the space cooler; a pergola filters light. Here's how to choose.

TEMO designs its patio covers so they can be upgraded later: first to a screen room, then to a full sunroom with glass. That lets you spread the cost over time without tearing anything out.

Planning the first stage with the last stage in mind keeps the upgrade simple. Tell us where you want to end up and we will size the cover for it.

TEMO patio covers are designed to be upgraded to a screen room or sunroom later. Here's how staged projects work.

TEMO builds its pergolas from heavy-gauge extruded aluminum. TEMO says its operable louvers withstand about 95% of hail storms when closed and 99% when open, and its fixed pergolas are rated for winds up to 220 miles per hour.

Every structure is engineered to local building codes. We confirm the right product and anchoring for your site during design.

Aluminum louvered roofs are built for wind and hail, and closing the louvers before a storm helps. Here's what to expect in Oklahoma.
